U4GM Guide ARC Raiders Celestes Journals Fast Safe Route

Now that the holiday noise has died down, ARC Raiders feels like it's settling into a new rhythm, and I've been spending more time on the parts people skip. Yeah, the January balance chatter matters (finally, less getting deleted by the same two items), but the thing that's hooked me is Celeste's Journals. It's the kind of objective that makes you play slow when your brain's yelling to sprint, and if you're trying to stay geared while you learn it, having access to cheap ARC Raiders Items can take the edge off the "one bad run ruins my night" feeling.

Why People Fail This Quest

First things first, you've got to clear the "Back On Top" prerequisite, then talk to Celeste in Underspace to get the job. The rule is simple and nasty: grab both journals from Dam Battlegrounds and extract in the same run. Die, and it's gone. Extract with only one, and you're still starting over. Most players lose the run before it even begins because they push straight through the middle of the dam like it's a normal loot route. It's not. That center lane is a shooting gallery, and it attracts every squad that's bored and looking for noise.

South Drop And The First Journal

Start in the south. Aim for the swampy flood zones because they're usually calmer, and the bots are manageable if you don't panic. Head to the South Swamp Outpost and check the back room. The first journal is sitting on a bunk bed, and it has that obvious glow, so you won't be staring at shelves for five minutes. Once you pick it up, don't take the main road north. Stay low and hug the western waterline. I use the reeds and the wrecked boats as cover, and it keeps you out of those long sightlines from the dam's higher angles.

The Tunnel Shortcut And The Second Journal

Here's the part that saves runs. There's a maintenance tunnel connecting the south swamp area to the mid-dam zone. Look for the grated door near the generator at the outpost, pop the lock, and move through fast. You come out much closer to North Ridge Outpost, which cuts a ton of risky travel. The second journal is in a small office tent up there, sitting on a desk. I'd rather take mobility perks than heavy armor for this, and I usually bring a suppressed SMG so I can clean up ARC patrols without inviting every PvP squad to my exact location.

Getting Out With Your Sanity

Once you've got both journals, treat the rest of the match like a survival game, not a highlight reel. Avoid "one more container" thinking, keep your fights short, and rotate wide if you hear sustained gunfire. The rewards are decent—rep, story bits that actually connect, and that satisfying sense you earned it—but the real prize is extracting without the whole run turning into a debt spiral. If you're trying to keep your stash stable while you grind attempts, some players use U4GM to pick up specific items or currency so they can focus on the quest instead of rebuilding from scratch every time.
